Damien Gilley is an American artist working in Portland, Oregon. His work explores hidden architectures through perceptual installations that combine drawing and sculptural approaches. Referencing influences from science fiction, non-Euclidiean geometry, and vintage computer graphics the works create hybrid-viewing situations that utilize a variety of perspectival tropes. The works challenge the reliability of perception through illusionistic wall drawings, indeterminate landscapes, digital retro-futurism, and drawings that extend the parameters of flatness.
